The Standard
Built so the front row feels alive — and everyone feels safe.
This Code applies to anyone on SLM grounds — attendees, staff, artists, vendors, sponsors, press.
Respect, every face, every night.
Front rail or back lawn — every person at SLM gets treated like they belong here. No slurs, no harassment, no violence. Zero tolerance, on stage and off.
Trained safety ambassadors in every zone.
Yellow-shirted ambassadors are trained in de-escalation, bystander intervention, and trauma-informed support. They are here to help, not to police. Find one anywhere on site.
Reporting is easy and confidential.
Anonymous reporting via the festival app, in-person at any info booth, or by texting REPORT to the on-site safety hotline. Reports go directly to a trained team — not to security or law enforcement by default.
Consent runs the room.
No one touches you without your okay. Photographers ask first. Crowd-surfing is opt-in. The pit has its own rules — they're posted, and they're enforced.
Things that get you removed.
Weapons. Drug dealing. Sexual harassment. Slurs and hate speech. Throwing objects from the crowd. Climbing barricades or staging. Removal is permanent — across all SLM events, all years.
